To me, Cardamom is a Christmas spice, one of those flavors I associate with warming aromas redolent of holiday cooking. But Cooks who favor the flavors of Indian cuisine use Cardamom seed in a broad range of dishes, from sweet to savory. That means, of course, that markets sell Cardamom with other spices.

Systematists, would expect to find Cardamom somewhere near Ginger, even Bananas. Carpologists, however, know Cardamom as a Capsule, specifically a Loculicidal Capsule (which means the seed mature in separate, dry chambers).
